The Difference Between Having the Support to Live With Dignity and the Production of Human Potential
The work of care giving is deeply imbedded in our laws and culture. This work has always been associated with women, and as a profession, with women of color. Many of the first domestic workers in the us were enslaved african women. And many of our nation's labor laws plicitly exclude domestic workers from equal protection. We must build the care infer structure to support our families, including caring for caregivers.
