In 1930, Barbette appeared briefly in Cocktow's first film, Blood of a Poet. Shao Denouai had given Cocktow one million francs to make it. The Vecompt also gave Salvador Dalí and Louis Bonuel a million francs for their film project, Laj Dor. Both films were controversial, both kind of damaged No Eyes reputation.
