Fecal microbiota from young mice restored gut integrity and reduced circulating levels of interferon gamma and IL-6. The findings advance our understanding of how the microbiome regulates the function of hematopoietic stem cells in the context of aging. This could be translatable into improved patient outcomes, Eric Pietrus says.
