The Effects of Calcium Carbonate on Coffee

If you live in an area with a lot of limestone, when you heat up the water, a chemical reaction takes place. In high temperature conditions, this hydrogen carbon will break down into carbonate and therefore have precipitate of insoluble calcium carbonate. So if we were to zoom into that very limestone heavy water that you have just put to boil in your kettle, the material that made those ancient shells reforms in your kettle. And it produces that wonderful white substance that so many of us are familiar with, limescale.
