The Importance of Field Visits
The social protection ministry in a political government is a tool of political patronage. You should not make the first compromise because there is a slippery slope all the way down, she says. The other thing you did, that I was very impressed with throughout this program and you were constantly referring to it was field visits. You were often out in rural areas, urban areas, seeing what poverty was like at the front line helping women who are often being deprived of the benefits they're entitled to by odd processes.
