Spartacus and the Romans
Spartacus defeats two consuls with an army each. He takes 300 roman prisoners and sacrifices them to his defeated, dead co general. Sacrificing humans is not considered the behaviour of civilized people. It can vin the memory of a particular figure who's fought with him. This must have had an influence on what decisions they made next. And it also seems to have affected spartacus, because it's at this point that apian mentions that he thinks about attacking rome specifically. But he still says spartacus didn't quite feel ready. So no matter hathis intentions were before rome, the sourcers tell us that he does move south at this point
