The Power of Appetite

The food system is connected by all sorts of different feedback loops and when it comes to our health there is a very toxic feedback loop that we call the junk food cycle. Our appetites which we all kind of take for granted are actually unbelievably powerful things. Food companies have realized that appetite responds particularly powerful to certain kinds of food that are calorie dense, soft and low in insoluble fiber. Some people's genes find that environment much more difficult than others so some people find it difficult to live in the swamp other people have swamp resistant genes. We need to create a better environment but also we need to teach people swamp craft - what they can do to control their appetite.
