Don't fluid your Kanban board tasks just so you want to show how busy you are. Manage work on the Kanban board that has a type to it. Unless the card on the process, on the workflow, has any meaningful value for the client, it's probably something you shouldn't put in there. Put working progress limits on the different keys of the board, but not confining the whole board for the grip limit.
