Is the Fed in a Position to Ease Inflation?
We think that headline inflation is going to fall back to a round, possibly just under 3.5% by mid-year. As we move into the second half of this year, we're expecting it to stay in that 3.5%. Ultimately, an asynchronous slowdown, a below-trained growth, this is the baseline that Fed Chair Powell talks to. The labor market eases a little bit, and that's enough to see inflation fall back.
