When I was 12 or 13, I had this friend named Tate. While everyone was watching the rodeo, we did decide to go sneak off and hang out on the midway. We were handcuffed, roughed up a little, tossed into the back of a cruiser and dropped off to our waiting parents in the parking lot. The sheriff roughed you up and then he passed you off to your parents for a beating. Jeez. But perhaps they are coded in a silver lining now that tends to happen over time.
