I was really struck by the charming references that you make to Kurzweil's work. The Age of Spiritual Machines is essentially this new era of humanity in which we're going to use technology to further our evolution into another species or what he calls post humanity. I take spiritual machines to mean machines that are conscious or machines that have some sort of essential part of our humanity contained in them. And at times it's really difficult to tell where your biological self ends and where your digital self begins.
