The Seven Children of Aquinas

The vagaries had eight and they were based on, I think it's eight tribes that were surrounding Israel in the Old Testament at some point. But then Aquinas really likes this idea of sevens. And so he doesn't want there to be eight of these bad things. He wants it to be seven. That's why sloth then becomes this combination of acidia and despair.
