What Happened to Constantine's Conversion?

Constantine is on the trajectory towards recognizing the Christian God. He's won this victory and his mother has this inspiration that she wants to raise the cross from the dust. Now we might say, well, yeah, actually what did happen to the cross? What happens to the Holy Land as we call it? In 70 AD? Because there's going to be a lot of history that's preceding this movement.
