We remember events that require active involvement. Involvement is when you are part of something. Generating a word in response to a question makes it more memorable. If someone prompts you with a clue and you respond with the word in question, then you're more likely to remember it. We could take passive receptive activities like reading and make them more active by adding some active element.
Reading out loud can have lots of benefits on our memory and our mental health. How can it help with your English? In this episode I read an article, help you understand it and give comments on the importance of reading, both quietly in your head, and out loud.
