Is There Anything Good That Comes Out of This?
I think it's very interesting because for so many economists, the overall GDP growth, overall economic growth, that is the end goal. And yet you've kind of focused on this one piece of it, the underbelly, so to speak. I mean, there just isn't anything good that comes out of this. We have been able to create an extraordinary amount of wealth in our country despite this and a number of other problems I've elsewhere termed the new misery. But we do live in a society where the fortunes of everyone should matter to us. It's not healthy to have these pointers going in big different directions.
