The book is really inspired by work that I've been doing for years writing about technology and transportation. My thesis looked at what the tech industry was proposing for transportation, what the implications of those promises had been or could be if they were actually fulfilled. It's definitely a spicier subtitle. Which I think is smart because, you know, Ed and I and Alex get tons of books that are coming out. And they're often, as you mentioned, sort of about the Jetson futuristic promises or sometimes historical,. which is very interesting.
Paris Marx is the host of the popular tech-critical podcast Tech Won't Save Us, and the author of a new book called Road to Nowhere: What Silicon Valley Gets Wrong about the Future of Transportation.
