The Fourth Recommendation Is to Remove the Fear Factor
There's a lot of fear in hospitals. I think we should be encouraged to apply discretion to the individual case and care provided we justify it. We've increasingly become risk averse to the point of becoming too risk averse. And so therefore we play overly safe, which may not be for the benefit of the patient. That has knock on effects in terms of flow of patients through the hospital efficiencies, etc.
