There is a genetic component such certain types of fears that we are predisposed to. The people who love horo films, is that it activates the sort of fear centre of your brain. It would not be believable if you had a forty year old person saying, let's run to the haunted house to be safe from the scary things. As we have a more evolve pref on cortes, we can kind of override the fer response and make more logical decisions.
