The gospel is against sin and sin's distorting of creation. The family was God's way of passing on the faith from one generation to the next. Jesus' redeeming work is about putting those things back together. Jew and Gentile can't be a part, because as Paul says in Romans 3, God isGod of the Gentiles too.
