For a while, I used to refer to all of these splitting algorithms, like chunk, chump by adjacent slide, etc. The ones that we all, the range adapters that we got in C++23 and these all already exist in languages like Haskell, etc. But anamorphisms are a larger umbrella term that I did not mean to use. And so I've started referring to those as just like splits in the J language. That category of algorithms is known as cut - which I've maybe is growing on me.
