The Poetry World After the Second World War

After the second world war, poetry developed in a way that took on many of the character stics that were already imbedded in the blues. I don't think the poets planned it that way, necessarily, but it happened. And when the two things were set side by side, all of a sudden a new form of song was made possible. But do you feel ik it was coming from a place of pain? Or were they coming at this from a different angle? The beats called themselves beats because they felt beaten down, right?
