Portland Black Student Union Against Public Inquest Into Johnson's Death

Johnson's death inspired black portlanders to the black justice committee. A public inquest is essentially a trial that occurs after a suspicious death. Opponents of the inquest wrote into local papers complaining that johnson's death was being turned into a race issue. The inquest happened, and it revealed some pretty damning stuff about the conduct of portland police officers.
