The Centre for Health Protection says it's investigating a confirmed Monkeypox case involving a 31-year-old man with an underlying illness. CHP said the man develops swollen lymph nodes, localised skin ulcers and swelling at a rash last Thursday. On Monday he went to the Yamatei Male Social Hygiene Clinic and on Tuesday his samples came back positive. The World Health Organisation says the Monkeypox virus can cause a painful rash, enlarged lymph nodes and fever. It says most people fully recover, but some get very sick.
