Inquiry Based Learning Is a Lot Worse for Students

Research saying that inquiry based learning is a lot worse for students doesn't surprise me it does fit in with my understanding of how students learn project based learning or problem based learning done badly. It's very much the quality of the teacher that is what the greatest impact is on student you've got your kids on sort of that loose string you can let them out for a little while but you will have to eventually draw them back in and make sure they're having conceptual and foundational understanding. My takeaway advice to any beginning teacher would be if you are intending a particular outcome to happen from a particular lesson or particularly unit of work you need to match the tool to that purpose.
