The Story of the Cairo

The sign by which constantine conquered was not the simple cross that we are all familiar with to day. Instead, he is describing the ki ro, a symbol comprised of the greek letters ki and ro, the first two letters of christ's name. The cairo would eventually become associated exclusively with christianity but this appears to be the first time it was ever used as a christian symbol.
