The Localization Function of Brain Function
In the mid 1800s, Pierre Broca visited a patient at a local hospital who had been experiencing progressive loss of speech and also paralysis. After TA died, Broca had permission to perform an autopsy and discovered that this patient had a very large lesion in his left frontal lobe. Based on this finding, Broca proposed something known as the localization function of brain function. This theory kind of went against the phenological theories of brainfunction.
