How Do You Get Yourself Out of a Teacher's Mind?
I think taking things personally can wreak havoc on a classroom if the teacher is in that mind space. I have to remind myself of this all the time. The hard part is building a relationship with those kids that are standoffish. And you just have to be patient and keep working at it. Pour your ego out. Look at things as an observer. Over time, when you know those kids will be great accomplishment for you, but more importantly, wonderful for those young people.
