A Novelist's View on Character in a Novel
A character, to me, is some one who is engaged in one or more dynamics at a given time. And i can't actually imagine what it would be like to write about a character who was just on their own all the time,. It would be a real challenge as a novelist. I'm much more interested in coming up with an interesting relationship and allowing that relationship to change how i think about the people who are participating in it.
