A star shade is a giant kind of flower petal like spacecraft that flies out in space tens of thousands of kilometers away from the telescope. The central part of the star shade blocks the star, but the planet is visible in the gaps around the petal shaped formation. Nassa is looking for the public's help to design these star shades.
