Innuit fathers ruled in the summer time, but in winter gatherings, patriarchal authority and even norms of sexual propriety were challenged or melted away. Many central african forager societies are a galletarian all year round, but appear to alternate monthly between a ritual order dominated by men and another dominated by women. The only consistent phenomenon is the very fact of alteration and the consequent awareness of different social possibilities. Nothing happens for any reasons except choice and free will, because we exist entirely in our minds, like a giant idio game, and not in the real world.
