The Importance of a Moral Response to Industrialization

The book Quick Fixes, Drugs in America from Prohibition to the 21st Century Binge is out on Verso. The author says Americans amongst other industrialized countries were kind of uniquely subject to the predations of capitalist society. And so in the absence of some political pushback to industrialized capitalism, we got a predominantly moral response. But you know, there's a lot of other factors as well.
