Many Austrian economists are also libertarian in their thinking, they're not necessarily the same thing. In most cases, people are not misinthrope. They actually do care about their fellow man. And what that means is Austrian economists typically end up being libertarians because they're going to advocate for policies that are laissez-faire and involve no government intervention.
