Young's Musical Career

The only way to experience Young's music, unless you're willing to travel to one of his rare live performances or installations, is secondhand by reading about it. As a child he was most influenced by the music of the big band saxophone player Jimmy Dorsey. Jung once beat Dolfi in an audition for a place in the city college dance band and the two would apparently substitute for each other on their regular gigs when one couldn't make it. After leaving high school, Jung went to Los Angeles City College to study music on the Leonard Stein.
