Family Caregivers in Hospital Settings

This chapter explores the vital role of family members in providing non-medical care to loved ones in hospitals, particularly in China where cultural expectations of filial piety are strong. It also discusses a pilot program introducing Patient Care Assistants to alleviate the caregiving burden on families, contrasting these practices with those found in Western countries.
