The Importance of Contingency in Globalization
I think globalization was pretty close to inevitable, assuming we didn't get hit by an asteroid or something. But I did acknowledge that I didn't predict the triumph of liberal democracy and marketing andomics are more efficient than a command economy. And I thought that leaving aside the question where China becomes a democracy, I thought that especially digital technology would pose the leadership there with a choice between continued kind of authoritarian, autocratic control and prosperity.
