The Evolution of Zoonoses
Historians think that humans have been fairly aware of zoonoses since ancient times. The integration of human and animal medicine continues in the world of surgery as well. Bovine and porcine heart valves are commonly used to replace dysfunctional human hearts. Pig skin can also be grafted onto human tissue that's been severely damaged by burns. There are even animal tissues and fluids that are used in the making of modern vaccines, which are then injected into human bodies.
