What Are the Most Common Mechanisms of Injury?

Road traffic collisions account for up to about 60, 65% of these presentations. There's an increased likelihood of pelvic trauma if the patient is sitting in the front of a head-on collision. Other mechanisms that we might attribute with pelvic trauma include things like falls from height and crush injuries. For me, who works in a trauma unit, essentially all of the pelvic trauma that I see is in the elderly with low-mechanism or low-energy injuries.
