James O'Keefe made a name for himself in 2009 when he went after the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, also known as Acorn. He secretly filmed acorn officials handing out advice on how an underage prostitution ring could better take advantage of federal housing workers. The story became huge and conservative sites, whether it was biggovernment.com or Fox News absolutely latched on to it. House of Representatives voted to defund Acorn, effectively shutting them down.
