Co-regulation is basically coming alongside another person. We do it very naturally with babies, right? Because we have to. They can't survive without co-regulation. But once they become toddlers, we think that they should be able to be more self-regulatory. And there's something called the expectation that most parents don't realize their children need more co-regulation than they are giving them.
