The Importance of Contrived Conversations
At A2 level, it's about conjugating all the verbs in third person and negatives. It's always a frightening prospect when you get an elementary class. You end up doing things like playing very limited and controlled kinds of games or role play conversations. In Thailand, I've had high level students. There are some very high-level students. They have a brutal sense of humor - they laugh from quite moneyed families. And often people who came back from abroad with Australian accents would just not recognize Thai culture.
