Julia's feeling, you know, she doesn't like her marriage. She starts thinking about how the night before her wedding, Frank showed up and was like, hey, I'm Frank. And they hung out for a little while; then they had sex. It was not good sex, as the book describes. But what if he were a being who couldn't distinguish between pleasure and pain?
