Free Will in a Universe Governed by Laws and Relations of Cause and Effect
Free actions are caused, not by antecedent events, as determinism would have it. The actor possesses the capacity to initiate action and chose to exercise that capacity. Peluci's compatibles account of volition seems to want to main ain some genuine notion of free will. He realizes that moral agency is impossible without it.
