The hand of the alluvatar is something that returns often. It's alluded to here in the very beginning of the work right at the start, this idea that no matter what Melkor does, the alluvatars is able to very easily just slightly adjust the melodies. And these are themes that you're going to see throughout much of his works, shows up time and time again.
