Before the war, i thought that based on the way the russian military was preparing and the rhetoric of the rssian leadership, this seemed quite likely to me. The things that seemed unacceptable as prices to pay, so to speak, to avoid this outcome now are a rpittance compared to the costs of this conflict. And not just for russia and rane, but really for the world. I don't even know what the international system looks like. If, you know, a player of rRussian significance is essentially north coreaizing itself, you know. It doesn't make the consequences any less significant the fact that they are taking these extreme measures.
