The first thing to understand is that if you try too hard, all of this stuff is going to happen. If i'm in my own head and i'm over analyzing, okay, like, should i have how often? Should i change the fluctuation of my smile? Am i smiling when i shouldn't be smiling? These are all the different features of affect which make other people feel creeped out if we don't do it kind of properly. Last thing is responding to internal stimuli. What does that literally mean? How does that work? When you sit with someone, you're not actually attending to them.
