Claude: I think it goes back to that bilingual brain. You know, we got we literally got the literature. That's a very good phonological point. But from a rhetorical standpoint, it's got its problems. My point would be, okay, get over it. It's a bad name. The intent of the intervention was to have kids make their first pass at recognizing a word using their decoding skills. Their phonics skills, letter sound association, how those combine to form a word. And once you say the word, then you think, is that a word I recognize?
