The Importance of Policy Compliance in the Chinese State
Despite being an authoritarian state, policy compliance has a very high enjoyment. The party states generally enjoy very high legitimacy, particularly among the central government. People receive coercion and repression, they don't even see that as repression. Because the policies is being implemented on the ground by non-state actors. They see it as part of society community work that I need to do to say yes to.
