Venture capital itself is private equity. It's just a very small slice of private equity that comes in at the riskiest opportunities. The way VCs make money is you get a percentage of every dollar you manage, right? So if I raise a venture fund and I raise a hundred million dollars, I might get 2% a year of that money. But the real wayVCs make money or the way you hope you make money is what's called carried interest or your carry.
