Aednoth and the Godwinson's Getting Rich From the Normans

Aednoth was one of three English nobles who had acquired a huge amount of land in exchange for supporting William and the Normans. We see him, along with Thorkel, Tovey, Merle-Swayne, and a number of other powerful English sheriffs, witnessing charters in the court of King William. This guy was thoroughly in the Norman camp by now. And I have to assume that the Godwinson's were taken by surprise. They didn't anticipate this turn. So it must have been quite disheartening to realize that Aednoth had thrown his lot in with William.
