Introduction

The mental status exam is a very medical, legal, and objective portion of our note. It's worth investing some time in this topic early in your training to make sure that you have understood all of it 100% correctly. The mental status exam isn't something where a whole lot of ongoing research is being done. There are several portions of this episode that change the way I think about certain foundational concepts.
